General Dynamics European Land Systems Changes the Name of DEFENDIA CZ to General Dynamics European Land Systems-Czech

PRAGUE- General Dynamics European Land Systems today announces the change of the company name of its wholly owned and controlled Czech subsidiary from DEFENDIA CZ, s.r.o., to General Dynamics European Land Systems - Czech, s.r.o. (“GDELS-Czech”).

GDELS-Czech has supplied 107 class-leading wheeled armoured personnel carriers to the Czech Armed Forces and continues to invest in the Czech Republic through the successful performance of countertrade operations in the amount of 18 Billion CZK (around 654 million Euros).

This name change demonstrates General Dynamics European Land Systems’ recognition of the Czech Ministry of Defence as one of General Dynamics’ main European customers and is intended to further integrate and develop its Czech operations within General Dynamics’ European family of companies.

GDELS-Czech and its technically-skilled employees in Prague will be focused on further enhancing the customer service provided to the Czech Armed Forces and will enter into negotiations for a long term service contract enabling the Czech customer to fully rely on the best available service from the original supplier.  GDELS-Czech will also serve as a reliable partner to other countries in Eastern Europe to which General Dynamics European Land Systems will market its entire product portfolio of wheeled and tracked vehicles, bridge systems, and artillery and ammunition.

GDELS-Czech was founded more than ten years ago and was the prime contractor to the Czech MoD in its programme for modernizing the Czech Army with armoured personnel carriers.  During the period 2010 to 2013 General Dynamics European Land Systems -Czech GDELS-Czech delivered 107 Pandur 8x8 wheeled armoured vehicles to the Czech Army.
